At the shipyard of Scott & Company in Greenock, Scotland the Devonshire class cruiser Argyll was launched on March 3, 1904. She was christened by Mrs. Campbell, the wife of the Convener of Co. Argyll. The launch went off without a hitch. HMS Argyll ended up as a wreck, she ran aground on Bell Rock on Oct. 28, 1915, there were no casualties, but the ship was a total loss. |
