6. Mar. 17, 2018 My grandfather served on the Georgia as a young lad, possibly to young as I here. But I would like to see John H. Walker Jr.'s pictures if at all possible. I have a picture of my grandfather and another sailor on board. If any one is interested I would surely email it to them. Just as a point of interest, my Grandfather married my Grandmother her name, Georgiana. Roland Mallett |
5. Mar. 6, 2011 I have recently found out that my grandfather served on the USS Georgia also during 1918 to 1919 and was interested in seeing the pictures that John H. Walker wrote about in his comment of December 4, 2009. Thanks for your help. Sharon M. Humphries Magnolia, New Jersey |
4. Dec. 4, 2009 My father, John H Walker Jr. YN3, served on board the USS Georgia BB15 1918-1919. I have 8 photographs of him and others taken on deck while in Brest France January 1919. 5 of the photos have annotations and names of persons. Regards, John H. Walker III |
3. Oct. 4, 2009 My grandfather Joseph Frederick Weitlauf served aboard the Georgia during the voyage of the Great White Fleet. I never met him and would surely appreciate any info you might have concerning the Great White Fleet, photos of the crew, etc. I only know that his job aboard the ship was as a butcher. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ken Jackson |
I have heard that my Grandfather, Archie Todd, was stationed on the USS Georgia around 1916. He was part of a group of Marines who sailed with the ship from Boston. Looking to verify this with a ships roster if possible. |
My husband's mother served on the USS Georgia around 1916-1918. Her name was Margaret Mary O'Sullivan. |
