Been trawling through some internet archives and came up with HMS Wolverton. Bude Branch, Royal Naval Association's current President is s/m Alan Litchfield - ex-Royal Marine who was onboard Wolvertone between Jan 1944 - April 1944. (His words, not mine!)
However, he subsequently landed Normandy 06.06.44, but was wounded and treated at Crumpsall Hospital, Manchester July 1944. Subsequently served in Belgium, Holland, Germany in 1945. Served until June 1946.
His details were: DOB: 29.12.24. Mne. PO/X 119167. He lives in Bude, Cornwall. He was recently awarded the French "Legion d'Honeur" Medal in Truro.
