My father's name was Thomas Walter Davies, and served in HMS Eskimo during World War II. He joined the Royal Navy in 1940 and was demobbed in late 1945. His rank was Able Bodied Seaman, and whilst at sea he was a coder. He was fortunate enough to be in Iceland during 1943 (I think), as a result of which he missed the Arctic Convoys. He was born in 1906 and died in 1981.
