Isle of Whithorn, Scotland

A second memorial at Isle of Whithorn, Scotland dedicated to the men lost in the sinking of the Solway Harvester on Jan. 11, 2000.

The anchor memorial is on the tip of the island and the other is set inland a few yards, near the ancient church of Saint Ninian. It is located near what was the entry of an old lifeboat station which was partly demolished leaving 3' high walls. Behind the wall is a hugh pile of stones, each bearing a message of remembrance of loved ones, be they human or pets. Picture shows location of the second memorial with the village of the Isle of Whithorn in the background.
