The cable ship MacKay-Bennett, Captain Frederick H. Larnder (seated middle row third from left) and the
crew which recovered 306 bodies from the Atlantic following the sinking.

 

The cable ship Minia was used to recover 17 bodies from the sinking including that of Charles M. Hays, President
of the Grand Trunk Railway.

 

For 73 years the Titanic lay on the bottom of the Atlantic, the wreck of the Titanic was finally found on September 1, 1985 by Dr. Robert Ballard. Many objects were found amongst the wreckage including deck chairs, umbrellas, shoes, and many other items. This photograph shows the stem of the Titanic.

 

Titanic's port anchor still locked in same position as when she left Queenstown, Ireland.
