The Electric Boat Company of Groton, Connecticut launched Bluefish SS-222 on February 21, 1942. She completed nine war patrols and was credited (officially) with sinking over 50,000 tons of enemy shipping, including the Japanese submarine I-351. Her record however could not save her and she was scrapped in 1960.
