On October 17, 1981 two new frigates took to the water, one on each coast of the U.S.A. Jarrett FFG-33 was launched at Todd Pacific in San Pedro, California and Aubrey Fitch FFG-34 was launched at Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. Jarrett is still serving in the U.S. Navy, but Aubrey Fitch was scrapped in 2004.
