March 15, 1980 the Lewis B. Puller FFG-23 was launched at Todd Pacific Shipyards, san Pedro, California. The ship was named in honor of Lt. General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller USMC and served in the US Navy until she was transferred to Egypt in 1998. As far as I know it is still active. |
