Daily Event for November 11

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in the year of 1918 the guns of the Great War fell silent. Now known as Veterans Day in the USA and Remembrance Day in the UK it is at first a day to honor those who fell in World War 1 however, in 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill renaming Armistice Day Veterans Day. The day now is a day to honor all those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces.

Thank you veterans, thanks for giving me the freedom that I enjoy, thanks for giving my children the freedom that they enjoy but most of all thanks for keeping this great nation free for all. Without you millions of people around the world would still live in tyranny but you have given them a chance to live in freedom. You have sacrificed for us and we owe you a debt than can never be repaid. All I can do is say thanks and that seems to me such a small response to what you have done for me.
