Daily Event for January 22


January 22, 1965: Three Russian fishing trawlers were lost in the Bearing Sea. Nahichevan, Sebezh and Sevsk each carried a crew of fourteen men. While it is not known for sure the loss was most likely due to a storm. There were no survivors.

The job of commercial fisherman consistently tops the list of the most dangerous jobs in the US.
