Note the report in column 3: "20,000 Drowned When Navy Smashed Landing"
(This is the kind of propaganda piece one expects to see in the German or Italian papers, in fact, the Italian Fascist editor Virginio Gayda, just yesterday, said something equally as absurd. In reality, the Germans lost about 6,000 men during the Crete operation. The author of the piece, Larry Allen, today would, with his vast imagination for details that never happened, could write for the New York Times, or the Washington Post and he could host a show on MSNBC or CNN. Maybe he could be the press secretary for Biden, but for that position, he would need to be able to lie consistently.)
