December 12, 1878 the iron sailing ship Falls of Clyde was launched at Russell & Company Port Glasgow, Scotland. One hundred and thirty years the ship still exists. This year (2008) she was nearly lost, however plans to tow her out of Honolulu, Hawaii and scuttle her were stopped by a group of private citizens who purchased the ship with the goal of rebuilding her to her former glory. |
