Mar 7, 1903:
Shakedown cruise off Target Bay, Culebra Island.
Apr. 5, 1903:
Arrived at San Juan, Puerto Rico, departed same day.
May 1, 1903:
Arrived at William Cramp Shipbuilding for final alterations.
Sept. 25, 1903:
Departed for gunnery tests off the Virginia Capes. Further gunnery tests continued out of
Newport News until Oct. 14. Then moved to the ranges off Culebra Island and further sea
trials off Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

Nov. 8, 1903:
Arrived at Norfolk, Virginia. Departed the same day for Panama for exercises.
Dec. 17, 1903:
Arrived at the New York Naval Shipyard for repairs.
Feb. 4, 1904:
Departed Tompkinsville, New York for torpedo trials off Cape Henry, Virginia. After which
Maine participated in Fleet exercises and battle practice off Cuba and Florida.

May 15, 1904:
Departed Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with Battleship Division 1 for a Mediterranean Cruise.
June 1, 1904:
Arrived at Lisbon, Portugal, departing June 19.
July 4, 1904:
Arrived at Piraeus, Greece.
July 12, 1904:
Arrived at Trieste, Austria.
July 25, 1904:
Arrived at Fiume, Hungary, departing July 30.
Sept. 3, 1904:
Arrived off the U.S. east coast and engaged in battle practice off Martha's Vineyard,
Massachusetts.

Jan. 27, 1905:
Departed the Boston Naval Shipyard after post cruise repairs. Stayed in New York for a
short period then engaged in training off Cuba and Florida.

May 7, 1905:
Arrived at Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Oct. 30, 1905:
Arrived at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. While there was visited by
Prince Louis of Battenberg (Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas George Mountbatten,
later 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma) and the Governor of Maryland.

Nov. 7, 1905:
Departed Annapolis, Maryland.
Nov. 20, 1905:
Under repair at the New York Naval Shipyard until Jan. 7, 1906.
Jan. 7, 1906:
Departed New York for Cuba.
May 3, 1906:
Arrived at New York.
Sept. 3, 1906:
Fleet Review at New York. Maine was inspected by President Theodore Roosevelt.
Sept. 4, 1906:
Departed New York for Bar Harbor, Maine.
Dec. 28, 1906:
Departed New York for Cuba.
Apr. 15, 1907:
Arrived at Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Oct. 7, 1907:
Arrived at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for repairs.
Dec. 9, 1907:
Arrived at Hampton Roads, Virginia with the U.S. Atlantic Fleet.
Dec. 16, 1907:
Departed Hampton Roads with the Great White Fleet for a world cruise.
May 6, 1908:
Arrived at San Francisco, California. Maine was detached from the Fleet and entered the
Mare Island Naval Shipyard for repairs. Following repairs sailed for the Philippines
touching at Honolulu, Hawaii and Apra Harbor, Guam.

July 20, 1908:
Arrived at Manila, Philippines.
July 23, 1908:
Departed Manila to return to the U.S. Touching at Singapore and Aden, then sailing through
the Suez Canal arriving at Port Said, Egypt on Sept. 10. The next day sailed from Port Said
and touched at Naples, Italy and returned to the U.S.

Oct. 19, 1908:
Arrived at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine for post cruise repair.
Dec. 21, 1908:
Departed Hampton Roads, Virginia for exercises off Venezuela and Cuba.
Feb. 22, 1909:
Arrived at Cape Henry, Virginia with the Fleet.
Mar. 2, 1909:
Departed Hampton Roads for exercises off Cuba, returning to the Portsmouth Naval
Shipyard for repairs. Later conducted further exercises off the U.S. east coast and
returned to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Aug. 5, 1909:
Arrived at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Aug. 31, 1909:
Decommissioned at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
June 15, 1911:
Recommissioned at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
July 11, 1911:
Departed Portsmouth for trials. Maine conducted trials and exercises off the U.S. east coast
and also underwent a repair period at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard followed by more
exercises.

Sept. 1, 1911:
Reserve Fleet at Philadelphia.
July 11, 1914:
Departed Philadelphia for a cruise to France and Morocco.
July 29, 1914:
Arrived at Villefranche, France.
Aug. 12, 1914:
Arrived at Tangiers, Morocco departing Aug. 19.
Sept. 1, 1914:
Arrived Annapolis, Maryland and embarked midshipmen for a cruise to Baltimore.
Sept. 15, 1914:
Returned to Annapolis.
Sept. 18, 1914:
Arrived at the New York Naval Shipyard and was placed in reserve and was used as
a receiving ship.

July 16, 1916:
Departed New York for Fleet exercises off Newport, Rhode Island Hampton Roads,
Virginia.

Jan. 22, 1917:
Departed from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard following repairs for a training cruise
which included visits to Charleston, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Mobile, Alabama,
Key West, Florida and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Mar. 30, 1917:
Arrived at New York following training cruise.
Aug. 3, 1917:
Departed New York, Maine was used for training engineers, seaman and armed guards
for merchant ships for the rest of the First World War.

Dec. 26, 1918:
At New York when the U.S. Fleet returned from Europe.
Mar. 3, 1919:
Departed Hampton Roads, Virginia for exercises and practice off Cuba and the Virgin
Islands, then returned to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for repairs on Apr. 5, 1919.

Apr. 29, 1919:
Departed Philadelphia and embarked midshipmen at Annapolis, Maryland for a training
cruise in the Caribbean. Touching at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and
the Canal Zone. Then moved back to the U.S. east coast.

Aug. 28, 1919:
Disembarked the midshipmen at Annapolis.
Aug. 20, 1919:
Arrived at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Maine remained in reserve until
decommissioned.

May. 15, 1920:
Decommissioned at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
Jan. 23, 1922:
Sold for scrap.
