December 1990: USNS Mercy T-AH-19 in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield.

 

March 5, 1991: General H. Norman Schwarzkopf C-in-C US Central Command boards the USNS Mercy T-AH-19
to visit coalition troops who were held as POW's by Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.

 

April 23, 1991: USNS Mercy T-AH-19 arriving San Francisco following deployment in Operation Desert Storm.
