A neighbor and family friend by the name of William J. Grooms was an Ensign, a Navy F6F Hellcat pilot, and had served on the Langley. Ensign Grooms lost his life on May 15, 1945 while practice Glide Bombing at Jeffer's Landing, New Jersey, as a result of aircraft structural failure according to the report filed at the time of the accident. I wondered if there's anyone out there who would recall William.

Thank you,
