I am interested to know if anyone can remember my father, Alan Austwick, who was on HMS Warspite from 1943 to 1945 and was serving on the ship on 6 June 1944 at the D Day Normandy Landings. I have just found his naval record book and found out this information. |

I have just looked at the Warspite details on line and found your message.My father who is still alive was also a member of her crew,he too was on the D day bombardments.His name is Stephen Henry Chapman. Able seaman and is from Middlesbrough. |
Thank you for your site. My grandfather served on the Warspite in World War II. His Name was Harold Wright. He served, "On 6 June 1944, Warspite took part in the Normandy Landings as part of the Eastern Task Force, firing on German positions to cover the landing at Sword Beach."
