Sunk in shallow water by torpedo boat Sampaio at Desterro Harbor, Brazil. Much
of the equipment had been destroyed by the crew before sinking.

Raised and renamed Vinte e quatro de Mayo.
1897:
Rebuilt at Stettiner Maschinenbau AG Vulcan, Stettin, Germany.
1900:
Renamed Aquidaban.
1904:
Fore and aft mast removed, sail rigging removed from mainmast.
Jan. 21, 1906:
Sunk by magazine explosion.
