Used in differentiating time. The Z stands for Zulu Time.

Zapped-
(Slang) Killed

Zappers-
(Squadron Nickname) VAQ-30, that flies the EA-6 Prowler.

Zebra-
(1950’s Slang) Master Sergeant. (In reference to the number of stripes on his arm)

Zeke-
(Allied Codename) Japanese Mitsubishi A6M, fighter.

ZELL-
(Acronym) Zero Length Launch. Basically used in reference too a booster launched F-104G, during the Cold War.

Zero-
(Allied Codename) Japanese Mitsubishi A6M, fighter.

Zipper-
(Nickname) Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.

Zippin’ Z-
(Nickname) USS Zellars DD-777; a Gearing Class Destroyer.

Zippo-
(Nickname) USS Forrestal CV-59, a Forrestal Class Aircraft Carrier. She earned the nickname after she ripped apart by explosions off Vietnam.

Zoomer-
(Slang) An Air Force member.

Zootsuit-
(Slang) A sky blue electrically heated suit, used in World War II, by bomber crews.

Zorro-
(Nickname) Douglas A-1 Skyraider.

Zulu-
(Codeword) Letter Z.

Zulu Time-
Military designation for Greenwich Mean Time. Zulu Time is the standard worldwide time. Most everything happens in Z Time.
