This scene shows families in their air raid shelters and others outside anxiously scanning the sky for incoming enemy aircraft. It also shows oncoming fleets of bombers loosing their load of destruction. At right artillery men passing 4inch shells, shielding their ears as HA guns fired and a battery commander pointing out targets to light AA bofors guns aimed at low flying bombers.

The artillery batteries on the left while behind the guns work continues through the raids. These girls are in an underground aircraft factory working on a spitfire wing.

RAF fighter pilots are shown in this scene, 18 and 19 year old boys became aged men through weeks and months of continuous sorties often six or seven a day.

A dogfight between the RAF and the Luftwaffe is shown on the left. On the right is what became the most iconic image of the Blitz on London, St. Paul's Cathedral entirely surrounded by burning blocks of buildings.

The devastation and the horror shown on the faces of those who endured the Blitz. At right tea is being served as the British people do what they could to carry on a semi-normal life.
