(The Norwegian freighter Silvaplana, was captured by the German Hilfskreuzer [auxiliary cruiser] Atlantis on Sept. 10th. The ship was taken as a prize, there were no casualties among the crew. The Germans renamed the ship Irene and used it as a blockade runner until HMS Adventure approached her on Apr. 10, 1943. The ship was promptly scuttled.) |
