Note the report in columns 3-4: "U-Boat Chief Was Ashamed"
(The unnamed ship was the Fort Richepanse, which had been attacked and damaged by German aircraft and later in the day was sunk by U-567. The Americans were recruits heading to England to join the Royal Air Force. The four men were; William M. Bishop, John R. Cox, Harry H. Hay and Frank J. Kruszynski.

(The Admiralty announces the loss of HMS P-33. The boat sailed from Malta on Aug. 6, 1941. The cause of the loss and the location of the wreck are still unknown.)

(The German statement is exactly what the U-boat commander told the German Naval High Command about the incident.)

Note the report in column 5: "German Jews Face Ruling"
(All Jews over age 6 are now ordered to wear a large yellow star of David, with the word Jude [Jew] in black letters. Jews are not allowed to wear any orders or decorations and are not allowed to leave the area in which they live without police permission. The order, signed by Reinhard Heydrich, will take effect on Sept. 15th.)
Also note the report in column 6: "Big Blackout - New Mexico to Hold State-Wide Test"
(The entire state of New Mexico to practice a blackout because the Director of Civilian Defense and Mayor of New York, Fiorello La Guardia, decided that New Mexico, a border state with sparse population, is "potentially the section through which an invasion of the United States might be initiated." I just have to ask, did anyone question his judgment on this subject, because it is completely absurd.)
