(In the battle, two Italian torpedo boats, Ariel and Airone were sunk outright and the destroyer, Artigliere, was taken in tow by another Italian warship, but was put adrift when other British warships approached. Artigliere surrendered to HMS York, but scuttled before the British could take control of the ship.)
