February 5, 1916 the battlecruiser Courageous was launched at Armstrong Whitworth. She did see service in the Great War and was there when the High Seas Fleet surrendered. In the 1920's she was converted into an aircraft carrier. She was sunk by U-29 on Sept. 17, 1939.
