Daily Event for November 6, 2010

U-boats, collisions, storms and other accidents are all ways for the navy to loose a ship, the USS Jolly Roger SP-1031 was lost in one of those "other accidents" The small ship had been used for testing torpedoes and mines along with local harbor duties since being acquired by the U.S. Navy in 1917. On November 6, 1918 the ship was being loaded on to the transport Kanawha when she was dropped by the crane, the damage was total and she was stricken from the Naval Register on Apr. 4, 1919 and scrapped.
