Jan. 7, 1940 the Italian submarine Capitano Tarantini was launched at Cantieri Tosi, Taranto, Italy. Her end came less than a year later on Dec. 15, 1940 when HMS Thunderbolt N-25 torpedoed her in the Bay of Biscay after leaving Bordeaux, most of the crew were lost with the boat.
