March 30, 1918 the SMS U-101 found the 418 ton cargo ship Lough Fisher off the coast of Ireland near Helvick Head. The submarine opened fire on the 168 foot ship with the deck gun sending the ship to the bottom with fourteen of her crew. It is unknown to me if there were any survivors.
