March 28, 1914 the 32,000 ton Japanese battleship Fuso was launched at the Kure Navy Yard. Both her and
her sister ship Yamashiro were lost in the Battle of the Suriago Strait Oct. 24-25, 1944, both with heavy loss
of life.
