Daily Event for September 6


Sept. 6, 1917 the cargo ship Tuskar hit a mine and sank off Eagle Island light, Ireland. She was built in Dundee,
Scotland in 1890 for the Clyde Shipping Company, at 1,159 tons she was 243' long with a beam of a little more
than 33', she was also defensively armed. The guns had no role to play when she ran afoul if the mine laid by
the U-80, ten men were lost when she went down, the master and the rest of the crew were rescued.
