August 1, 1931 the liner Rex was launched at Ansaldo in Genoa, Italy. The liner held the Blue Riband and even
continued to operate in commercial service during the first years of the war. She was sunk by RAF aircraft
on Sept. 8, 1944 while en route to be scuttled by the Germans at Trieste as a block ship.
