Daily Event for May 30


The Danish cargo ship Söborg was built in 1899 by the Short Brothers in Sunderland, on May 30, 1915 she was torpedoed and sunk by SMS U-16 about 40 miles from the mouth of the Tyne River. Twenty-two men were on the ship at the time, all were picked up by SS Tore Jarl and landed safely.
