April 22, 1799 the Deptford Dockyard in London the 5th Rate 36 gun ship of the line Amethyst was launched.
She was 150' long with a beam of 39' and had a builder's weight of 1,046 tons. She served until Feb. 16, 1811
when she was wrecked in Plymouth Sound, the wreck was broken up later that year.
