Daily Event for September 3

1700: A Scottish frigate named Rising Sun was at Charleston, South Carolina when a hurricane came ashore.
There were 112 people onboard when the ship arrived but at the time of the storm only one hundred were on the ship, the other twelve being ashore. When the storm was over the ship had been destroyed and only three
of those onboard survived. None of the twelve on shore were killed.
