Daily Event for September 21

Sept. 21, 1894 the German battleship Brandenburg was launched at AG Vulcan in Stettin, Germany (now Szczecin, Poland). Her trials took place in Nov. 1893 with Kaiser Wilhelm II embarked. In Feb. 1894 during a high speed trial a steam line burst which resulted in the deaths of 44 crewmen. By World War 1 the Brandenburg was an outdated ship and she was used mostly for coastal defense. She was scrapped in 1920.
