June 8, 1982 RFA Sir Galahad L-3005 was attacked by Argentinean aircraft in Bluff Cove, Falkland Islands, and damaged beyond repair killing 48 of which 32 were Welsh Guardsmen. Sir Galahad was taken in tow and later sunk by the submarine HMS Onyx and dedicated as a war grave. |
