April 21, 1917: Six German destroyers were conducting a raid in the Dover Straits when they were interrupted by HMS Swift and HMS Broke. Four of the destroyers managed to escape however, in the gun battle that lasted over an hour, the G-85 sank from torpedoes and the G-42 sank after HMS Broke rammed her bows into her.
