Daily Event for October 8


October 8, 1872: The Anglo-Egyptian liner Scanderia sailed with thirty eight passengers and  crew, never to be heard from again.

October 8, 1925: The Margarita, which had sailed from New London, South Africa on the 7th, sent out a distress call stating that they were in heavy seas and listing. It was the last time she or the thirty six people on board were ever heard of.
