November 3, 1875: The American schooner Sunshine sailed from San Francisco bound for Oregon. Fifteen days later the ship was found capsized and floating near Cape Disappointment north of the Columbia River mouth, Washington. The wreck came ashore on Nov. 22 but, shed no light as to what happened to the twenty five people who were on board. They were never seen again.
