Horses of the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial
Sydney, Australia

A small memorial dedicated to the Horses of the Australian Desert Mounted Corps who during WW1 carried the troops and their equipment over the Sinai Desert and into Palestine. These horses were not returned to Australia after the War due to strict Australian Quarantine regulations. This memorial is found near the southern gates to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, in Macquarie Street opposite the State Library of NSW.
