Note the report at top right: "40,000 Children Are Leaving East Coast In Two Days"
(More evacuations of British children to keep them safe from Nazi air raids.)
Also note the report in column 6: "Five U-Boats Believed Sunk By R.A.F."
(While the Royal Air Force may have believed they sank five U-boats, in fact, none were sunk within the time frame given by the report. Only one U-boat was lost in the whole of June 1940, and it is still unknown exactly what caused the loss of this boat. Two U-boats were sunk on July 1st and the RAAF was involved in the sinking of one of them. However, for the rest of the month of July, no more U-boats would be lost to enemy action or any other cause.)

(Click on the image for a readable version.)

Note the report at bottom left: "New York Radicals Rounded Up In Bomb Investigation"
(A bomb placed at the British pavilion at the New York's World's Fair exploded and killed two New York detectives (Joseph J. Lynch 33, and Ferdinand A. Socha, 35) who were removing it. In other reports it is clear that the NYPD rounded up what can be described as "the usual suspects" but did not seem to have any real information as to who the bomber was. Some reports blame an unidentified Irishman, others point toward communists. The person or persons who planted the bomb and the reason it was planted was never determined.)
Also note the report in column 4: "Liner With Daladier Aboard Is Missing"
(The former French Prime Minister was making his way to French morocco in order to evade the Nazis, but was captured and returned to France. He was tried for treason by the Vichy government and imprisoned. He remained there until he was handed over to the Germans in April 1943. He was then sent to Buchenwald Concentration Camp and in May 1943 was moved to Itter Castle in North Tyrol, where he remained until the end of the war. He died on Oct. 10, 1970.)
Also note the report in column 5: "Vandals Tear Up Gravestones"
(In this despicable act 31 graves of Civil War veterans were desecrated by thugs.)
Also note the report in column 5: "3 Bund Leaders Are Arrested in New Jersey"
(With Fritz Kuhn in prison, the new American Führer, G. Wilhelm Kunze and his band of Nazi thugs were arrested for inciting racial and religious hatred. I'm not sure that inciting racial and religious hatred is a crime anymore. If it was member of the boards of education who promote critical race theory could be arrested. Also, we could arrest most of the members of blm, antifa, many members of the left-wing media, and the democrat party as well. Sad but true.)
Also note the report at bottom right: "Rumania Goes Completely Nazi"

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Evening Star, Washington, D.C.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Evening Gazette, Xenia, Ohio.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

Note the photo at bottom right: "Nazis Sink Own Men On British Prison Ship"
(About 800 people were killed when U-47 under the command of Kapitänleutnant Günther Prien, torpedoed the ship. Many of the dead were his countrymen.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Port Arthur News, Port Arthur, Texas.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Southern Jewish Weekly, Jacksonville, Florida.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Tacoma Times, Tacoma, Washington.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

Note the Patriotic tone of the front page, sadly this kind of overt patriotism is no longer displayed by the current press.
(On July 4th I wrote "It is unlikely that you will see this in our papers today in 2021." In the New York Times for July 3 there was an article entitled "A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite." In addition to that, PBS, the partially taxpayer funded national broadcasting company, had decided to have Vanessa Williams, the first Black Miss America, sing the Black National Anthem at their annual "A Capitol Fourth" broadcast. Whether they had someone perform the proper National Anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, or not I don't know, I did not watch the broadcast. A big thanks to the America hating, left-wing media for proving me to be correct. To be fair, it was an easy call, no surprise at all.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of The Bakersfield Californian, Bakersfield, California. the San Mateo Times, San Mateo, California.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

Note the report in column 8: "Germans Refuse U.S. Warning On Americas"
(Seems that Adolf Hitler was playing along with the false reports of his planned invasion of the western hemisphere. This seems to have caused much consternation in the halls of Washington D.C., when there was no real evidence that Hitler had any intention of any such move.)
Also note the photo at top right: "Plane Carrier Sunk?"
(The Germans claim to have torpedoed the British aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious. In other reports the Germans even identify the submarines commander as Endrasz. His name is spelt differently in other papers. His name was actually Engelbert Endrass, and he was the commanding officer of U-46. After checking the German documents I have, I can find no original source for this claim, the Kriegsmarine High Command itself said the claim was "questionable." I don't have the war diary for U-46, so I can't confirm that Endrass made the claim himself, but wherever it came from, it was not true. As a side note, Endrass was an officer aboard U-47 when that submarine, under the command of Günther Prien, sank HMS Royal Oak.)

July 5, 1940: Front page of the Hamburger Neueste Zeitung, Altona, Hamburg, Germany.

(France breaks diplomatic relations with Great Britain.)

(Churchill boasts of the shame of Oran.)
2. Die Nation der Kindermörder vergewaltigt die wehrlosen Bundesgenossen.
(The nation of child murderers rapes their allies.)
