Note the report in column 3: "Liner Jammed With Refugees"
(Another irresponsible report from the Associated Press about the movements of a large Allied ship. This story had been in the press since May 27th, when the Germans announced that the ship would be sunk by the British in an attempt to cause a rift between the Allies. On May 28th the Germans announced to the press that the
SS President Roosevelt was to be allowed to sail unhindered. This order is confirmed in official German documents as being true.)
