(The first entry is for Vice Admiral Tom Philips, who had just been appointed Vice-Chief of Naval Staff. In 1941 he was appointed C-in-C China Station and was killed in HMS Prince of Wales on Dec. 10, 1941 when that ship, and HMS Repulse were sunk by Japanese aircraft.)

[Blaming England for the war was one of Goebbels' favorite "Big Lies" and in this case the lie is confirmed by evidence. In the German Navy war diary on Apr. 20, 1940 this passage can be found:

"By the Führer's order, the towns and railroad terminal of Namsos and Åndalsnes were to be destroyed without regard to the civilian population and railroads and roads effectively cut."

The Big Lie theory further demonstrated by the headline in the Hamburger Neueste Zeitung below. One must understand that the "Big Lie" only works when the media works in concert with the government and the education system.]
