Note the report at bottom right: "Negroes Picket Premier Of Abraham Lincoln Movie"
(The movie premier was attended by a number of high ranking government officials, including the wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The most profound part of the report is in the last paragraphs. "German theatres bar Jews, Washington theatres bar Negroes. Negroes are barred from this theatre. Negro citizens may not see this picture of the Great Emancipator." They were exactly correct. Mrs. Roosevelt was asked what she thought of the demonstrators and replied "I think it is particularly tragic that the people whom Lincoln freed should not be allowed to see the show about him."

This is a disgraceful reminder of what happens when the Constitution is discarded. This terrible discrimination is not allowed under the Constitution of the United States, but when people decide to ignore the Constitution, this is the outcome. It also shows that even "Negro" demonstrators in the U.S.A. were somewhat aware of what was happening to the Jews in Germany.)
