I enjoyed your internet site I was able to find four of the five ships I served aboard throughout my career in the US Navy.  The second ship I served aboard as Main Propulsion Assistant was the USS Bronstein (FF-1037) during the 1975-1976 timeframe.  Her sister ship was the USS McCl

oy FF-1038. The US Navy only built two of these ships they started out as DE-1037 and DE-1038, production then shifted to the FF-1040 Class and FF-1052 Class in the follow on years.  Nice little ships, as you can see the main decks are flat and level as can be, no flare to the bow, so in heavy seas they "plunged" which resulted in the bridge spending a good amount of time under water.  Nonetheless both ships served in the capacity as ASW ships towing an SQR-15 passive array, they were absolutely unbeatable in locating Soviet Submarines.  Small but as MPA of USS Bronstein her engineering plant was second to none, easy to maintain and very compact.

Sincerely,
Bob Condon
