USS Saipan LHA-2, and USS Boxer LHD-4 in the Arabian Gulf during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As part of
Task Force 51 the thirty-two ship force is the largest amphibious force deployed since the landings at

deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

September 16, 2003: USS Bataan LHD-5 departing Naval Base Norfolk, Virginia to avoid being caught in port
during Hurricane Isabel.

 

October 26, 2003: THE US Navy Blue Angels fly over the USS Bataan LHD-5 during the Sea and Sky Spectacular
