July 31, 1949: Ammunition on the deck of HMS Concord R-63 being removed from the lockers and stowed back into the magazine following the escape of HMS Amethyst F-116 from the Yangtze River. Concord had moved up the river past the forts at Woosung to cover the escape of Amethyst, which had been grounded on Rose Island since Apr. 20 when she had come under fire from Chinese Communist forces.
