(The Russian claims were wildly exaggerated. According to Wikipedia German casualties in Operation Barbarossa between June 22, 1941 until Dec. 5, 1941 were; 186,542 killed, 40,157 missing and 655,179 wounded. Russian casualties for the same period were; 566,852 killed, 235,339 died of non-combat causes, 1,336,147 sick or wounded in combat and non-combat and 2,335,482 missing or captured.)
