Note the headline report: "Italian Destroyer Sunk Off Eritrea"
(The report claims a destroyer was sunk by aircraft. There was an attack made against Italian destroyers by FAA Swordfish, none of the ships were sunk. The report also states that the German ship Bertram Rickmers was intercepted by HMS Kandahar. This was true, but the ship was scuttled by its crew before it could be captured. Kandahar was sunk in Dec. of 1941 after hitting a mine.)

Note the report in column 4: "Mistook Ship For Raider - Seamen Perish"
(12 men on the Ville de Liège abandoned the ship in a lifeboat when a British patrol ship fired a shot across the bows. The men thought the ship was a German raider. Ville de Liège would be attacked and sunk two weeks later by U-52.)
Also note the report in column 7: "Communists In Canada"

[Bromberg Bloody Sunday was a massacre of Germans by the Poles which occurred Sept. 3-4, 1939. The Poles killed about 250 Germans, who had been living in Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) Poland and the Germans retaliated by killing over 2,000 Poles.]
