(The attack was on Convoy OB-293. This convoy lost three ships and had four others damaged. But, the Germans lost two U-boats in the attack, U-47 and U-70. A third boat, U-A, was so badly damaged it had to return to port. They also lost one of their best U-boat commanders, Günther Prien in U-47.)
