(The unnamed ship, Regent Lion, had been hit by a torpedo from U-610, but made port. She was sunk by U-300 on Feb. 17, 1945.)

(Betty Quinn was the first female from Coventry to receive the George Medal.)

Note the report in column 4: "Submarine Sunfish Sinks Nazi Ore-Ship"
(The report also states that a second ship was damaged. The report was mostly true. Sunfish had sunk the Finish cargo ship Oscar Midling and damaged the Norwegian tanker Dixie. The tonnage was incorrect as the submarine commander claimed almost twice the actual tonnage. Oscar Midling was only 2,182 GRT and Dixie was only 1,715 GRT.)
